What Our Clients Say
When I first came to Face It TOGETHER, it was to use the computer for job search but I was still not ready to quit my addiction to alcohol. I come from an alcoholic family so throughout my younger years I developed an addiction myself, due to the fact that everyone was doing it.
I ended up in prison due to my addiction to alcohol and my choice of friends. It’s been a struggle but I must and will give thanks to the very important people at Face It TOGETHER who believe in not giving up on people who are in the struggle of the disease of addiction. Once again, thank you to Face It TOGETHER for helping me believe in myself.
I lost my job last September and it really shook me up. When I needed help, Face It TOGETHER Sioux Falls was there for me. They helped me rewrite my resume, prepare for job interviews, and they were there if I just needed to talk. It was hard because the jobs that I was applying for, I didn't have any experience in. So I was referred to a staffing agency, and I did a few temporary jobs there. Those temporary jobs gave me the experience I needed to break into other career fields.
I also volunteered to help with the Sioux Falls Sidewalk Arts Festival. It was so fun listening to people's stories, and telling others about what Face It TOGETHER Sioux Falls is about. We handed out a lot of business cards and pamphlets, and we had quite a few people who worked in doctor's offices and wanted to hand them out to their patients.
I really admire Face It TOGETHER and what they do for people in their time of need. The staff is so friendly, and very knowledgeable about different community resources. However, what makes Face It TOGETHER Sioux Falls unique is that many of them have suffered from addiction themselves, and they are a community that knows what you are going through.
Thank you for ALL you do Face It TOGETHER Sioux Falls!
It’s difficult for me to summarize how I feel about Face It TOGETHER. I have been a client for over four years, and in that time, not only have I grown to consider the staff my friends, I also consider them family. They took me in when I was homeless, drunk, alone and afraid. They have helped me learn the life skills that were missing.
Incarceration, loneliness, and fear were the dominant forces in my life, but they, with the help of the 12 steps, have taught me that I don’t have to live that way anymore. The staff at Face It TOGETHER has helped me to do just that. To face my issues head on, and learn that it’s ok to ask for help, and that they will do anything they can for someone who is willing to step up and do the footwork. As the old proverb goes, “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.” In my case, I was a donkey, but they are patient. They never say “you can’t do it.” I am proud to say that with their help, I am now able to give back to them, and hopefully to you as well. If you need help… Face It TOGETHER Sioux Falls has a trained staff whose only job is to make sure you get the help you need. Please call, email, or visit our Facebook page. Help is there, when you’re ready for it.
To be completely honest, I’m not sure where to begin. From the moment I first walked through the doors here at Face It TOGETHER, I’ve been treated with more kindness and compassion that I’ve ever experienced. For the first time in a long time, there was hope. The entire staff is amazing; however, a special thank you to recovery coach Shelly! Words can’t fully express my gratitude and how amazing she is. She has truly been a guiding light along my path. I wouldn’t be where I am today without this amazing organization. Face It TOGETHER has been a genuine answer to not only my prayers, but also the prayers of my children. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You and God Bless each and every one of you.
